OUR
MINISTRIES
Bethany Lutheran Church offers many opportunities for you to actively participate in our ministries that extend beyond our congregation to the wider community. Here are just a few examples of how we live out our mission statement of being a congregation making Christ know.
Social Ministry
Bethany is committed to serving our neighbors. We support local food pantries and shelters By collecting food and clothing as well as serving meals. We are active participants with our local ecumenical partners in events such as the annual Feeding Our Neighbors Walk and Community Thanksgiving Service which both support the Cromwell Food Bank. Our ongoing partnership with Luther Ridge of Middletown, MARC and MOSAIC are other examples of our commitment to serving are most senior members and those with special needs.
Parish Life
Care for our members is an important part of being a community of faith. Our Saints Alive seniors’ group provides fellowship opportunities by hosting social events, birthday celebrations and sponsoring short excursions. Our Prayer Shawl Ministry provides both an opportunity for service for those who enjoy knitting and a comfort to those who are sick or grieving. Other examples of how we care for members of Bethany and neighbors include our Postcard Ministry and Prayer Chain Ministry.
Youth Ministry
Bethany Youth Group (BYG) provides opportunities for fun activities, faith development and service. Members of BYG have traveled to the ELCA national youth gathering and are always interested in getting together for a good time.
Music Ministries
Bethany has a long tradition of being a congregation blessed with an abundance of variety of musical gifts. From our cherub choir, adult choir, Joyful Noise folk group, to our vocal ensembles and instrumentalists, we offer multiple opportunities for those blessed with vocal
or instrumental gifts to serve.
Christian Education
We offer a variety of programs that focus on faith development, including Sunday school, confirmation, Table Talk (weekly adult bible study) and Vacation
Bible School.
